SURRENDER & BE VICTORIOUS
sur·ren·der - to give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield.
We think of surrender as being defeated, as quitting or submitting. This is true in the world’s eyes. When it comes to Christ surrender is victory, surrender is power, surrender is freedom. We must surrender in order to be directed and guided in the direction God wants us to go. Today God blessed me tremendously, and what I’m about to tell is of God and from God. It is God and God alone that deserves and should receive all the honor and all the glory.
As in my last posting I talked about (”pay it forward”) the cash that WAC gave to each person so that we may be a blessing and start practicing generosity. That opportunity presented itself today, and it was not an accident, it was a divine appointment. I was on HWY. 253 heading back to work when I noticed a guy on the side of the road, his car was jacked up and a tire was off. After I noticed this I did keep on going. As I passed the Lord just reached down and slapped me in the back of the head and said, “he’s the one, he’s in need and you need to help him.” So I turned around and pulled up to him and asked him if he was ok and if he needed any help. The guy told me that he was involved in a hit and run and his tire was damaged. He told me all that it needed was valve stem and asked me if I would take the tire to be repaired, he was waiting on the police. I told him I would and on my way to get the tire repaired the Lord spoke again and told me to just get him another tire. That is exactly what I did and on my way back I prayed, “Lord, I thank you for this opportunity, and I ask that you prepare his heart and give me the opportunity to witness. I know that he may not except you right now but I pray that a seed is planted here today.” I get back and told the guy I got him a new tire and he wanted to know how much he owed me. I explained that he did not owe me a dime. I then began to tell him that the reason I stopped to help is because the Lord told me to because he was in need and that I needed to help him. He beagn looking at me funny, then I explained that the Lord also wanted me to bless him in another way and I handed him some cash( the money left over from buying the tire). He refused and refused, but I told him that this was not my money, it was God’s money and that He blessed me with the money so that I may bless someone else and he was the one I was suppose to bless. At this point his look toward me of one that I was crazy turned into a look of bewilderment and his eyes filled up as if he was about to cry. Then the door just swung wide open and my opportunity presented itself. I then told him that the greatest gift I had ever received was Jesus Christ. I talked to him about his salvation and explained how Christ died for our sins and he told me he went to church. I told him that going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, it is your relationship with Christ. I explained that all you have to do is believe that Christ lived a perfect and sinless life and that he died for our sins and rose again. Then I told him that if he wasn’t sure of his salvation that he can take care of that right now. Well wouldn’t you know it there we are on the side of the road and my brother, yes my brother Ricky Sloan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior! I felt like the disciples as they ministered to people, not in a church but on the side of the road, surrendering to God and his will. My brother has a new destination and that is HEAVEN!
Victory is truly in surrender and surrender is in Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ is Victory!
………………..THE REVOLUTION BEGINS! TO GOD BE THE GLORY AND HONOR!
